Neemias scores 8 points in the Celtics' crushing NBA victory
Portuguese
international center Neemias Queta added eight points and four rebounds in the
Boston Celtics' crushing home victory against the Brooklyn Nets (136-86), in
Wednesday's NBA matchday.
Eleven
days after his last appearance, Neemias played 13.13 minutes, the last 6.15 of
the third period, entering with the Celtics winning by almost 40 points
(82-44), and the last 6.58 of the fourth and final period.
Despite
being the player to whom coach Joe Mazzulla - who scored his 100th victory -
gave the least amount of time, the Portuguese 'giant' took advantage to score
eight points, with four out of six 'shots' from the field, including a great
'dunk' almost over.
In
his 23rd game of the season in the NBA, Neemias Queta also recorded four
rebounds, two defensive and as many offensive, one steal and one turnover, also
committing three fouls.
Substitute
Payton Pritchard, with 28 points, Derrick White, with 27, and Jayson Tatum,
with 20, nine assists and seven rebounds, led the Celtics, while Trendon
Watford, with 15 points, was the visitors' top scorer.
The
Celtics lead the Eastern Conference, with 43 wins and 12 losses, while the Nets
remain in 11th place, with 21 wins and 33 losses.
As
for Neemias Queta, he now has 43 games in the NBA, 23 for the Boston Celtics,
who signed him this season, and 20 for the Sacramento Kings, 15 in 2021/22, in
his debut season, and just five in 2022/23.
The
24-year-old Portuguese international center forward was selected by the
Sacramento Kings in 39th position in the 2021 NBA draft, becoming the first
Portuguese player to play in the competition.
In
the last season, he was hired by the Boston Celtics, in a two-way contract,
which means he will play for the main team, but also for the Maine Celtics, who
compete in the G-League.
