F1 issues official statement regarding investigation into Red Bull
“We note that Red Bull
has instigated an independent investigation into Red Bull Racing's internal
allegations. We hope that the matter will be clarified at the earliest
opportunity, following a fair and complete process. We will not comment further
at this time,” says the F1 statement.
The investigation into
Horner is ongoing, but in the meantime there is speculation about its contents.
The fire escalated further when a rumor emerged that the report of unacceptable
behavior was related to sexually inappropriate behavior.
It was previously
reported that this would involve “transgressive behavior” towards a female
employee. Horner denied all allegations against him.
Formula 1 and rights
holder Liberty Media are monitoring the matter closely and F1 CEO Stefano
Domenicali has reportedly spoken to Mark Mateschitz, son of Red Bull co-founder
Dietrich Mateschitz. With this statement, the sport appears to be putting even
more pressure on Red Bull to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
